Andy Reid on Imminent Extension: ‘Love the Organization'

Less than a month after Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs have been back to work preparing for a title defense. With the offseason rolling on, the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is a perfect time for teams to meet with prospects, players' agents and more. 

This time of year is also known for being heavy on rumors and reports. Earlier this week, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network broke news that head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach were "expected to begin" talks on contract extensions soon. New deals would keep one of the NFL's best head coach-GM duos in town for years to come, which is undoubtedly good for Kansas City.

Another member of the NFL Network crew, James Palmer, caught up with Reid at the Combine. When asked about a potentially imminent extension, Reid had nothing but good things to say about the Chiefs. 

"Yeah, that'll all take place here quickly, I'm sure," Reid said. "There's no better person to work for than Clark Hunt. I felt that way with Jeff Lurie, I feel that way with Clark Hunt, and I've been fortunate. Green Bay Packers, they don't have an owner, but I was fortunate to be there. I'm not getting any younger, so I appreciate Kansas City. We love it there. I love the organization. I get to work with three great guys or two great guys — I work with more than that — but I've got Clark Hunt, Mark Donovan and Brett Veach, which is the three. I already mentioned Clark, so that was the two. But those guys, I work with them every day. Clark gives us the opportunity, all three of us, to do things to help us win. That's all you can look for."
