Browns sign veteran offensive tackle to add some needed depth
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Browns have made a roster move on NFL trade deadline day.

The Browns have added veteran tackle Geron Christian to the team, it is not known at this time if it is a practice squad add or a move to the 53-man roster. Christian was signed as a free agent.

Christian has appeared in one game this season with the Houston Texans. In 2022, Christian played with the Kansas City Chiefs primarily on special teams where he appeared in 10 games. The year before that he spent some time with the Texans and made eight starts out of 14 games played.

The move comes after practice squad call-up Ty Nsekhe suffered a biceps injury in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Christian is still 27 years old as a third-round pick out of Louisville in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders. He spent three seasons with the Commanders and played in 24 games with eight starts.

Not the move you’re expecting on the day of the trade deadline, but alas it’s a move you have to make for depth reasons.
