Free agent offensive lineman Taylor Lewan had to clarify his playing status after a clip saying he was returning was posted to X.
While appearing on Barstool Sports' "The Pro Football Football Show" Lewan joked about stepping away from the game, stating bluntly "I'm retired," in a clip taken from the show and posted by Barstool.
The three-time Pro Bowler was quick to quote the post, clarifying that he was not retired. His post also said that he allowed the clip to be shared with the understanding it would include that he was joking. Before making the gag announcement on the show, Lewan said "I could come back and play no problem."
I’m not retired.

production team asked if they could use this clip. I told them yes as long as they keep me saying it’s a joke in the clip
Obviously they didn’t listen and got what they wanted. Congrats on getting numbers I guess. https://t.co/kr2DRwXWdW
Lewan has played nine seasons in the NFL, all with the Titans, and is a regular on Barstool programs. His own show "Bussin' With The Boys" with former NFL linebacker Will Compton is presented by the popular sports blog. Compton announced his own retirement from football on Sept. 3. The pair played together in Tennessee during the 2018 and 2020 seasons.
Lewan played in two games for the Titans in 2022 and remains a free agent to start the 2023 season.
