Watch: Titans safety returns a Gardner Minshew INT for a pick-two

The pick-2 may be one of the more rare occurrences in the NFL.

The first one ever came in 2016 when former Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry intercepted then-Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan on a two-point conversion and returned in 98 yards for two points.

There haven’t been many since, so when Tennessee Titans safety Amani Hooker pulled off the feat near the end of the third quarter in Sunday’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, of course it went viral.

After the Colts blocked a Titans kick and ran it back for the go-ahead touchdown, quarterback Gardner Minshew’s pass to running back Zack Moss on the two-point conversion attempt was batted up in the air and fell into the hands of Hooker, who ran it back untouched to pull the Titans to within 22-19.

Hooker’s interception proved to be a key moment in the game.

After Indy added a 28-yard field goal to run its lead to 25-19, the Titans tied the game minutes later on a Will Levis three-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins. The game ended up going to overtime, which wouldn’t have been possible without Hooker’s pick-two.
